1. NYC’s Ro, a direct-to-patient health care company, has raised $150 million in a venture funding round. ShawSpring Partners led the round and joined by General Catalyst, FirstMark Capital, TQ Ventures, SignalFire, NYC’s BoxGroup, The Chernin Group, Initialized Capital, Altimeter Capital, Baupost Group and Seven Seven Six. The company also announced Ro Derm — a digital clinic for skincare, Ro Mind, a digital clinic for mental health and Ro Pharmacy, a cash-pay online pharmacy. (www.ro.co) (PR Newswire)
2. The New York Times ponders whether the “goofy young couple” arrested in possession of $4.5 billion in stolen cryptocurrency are “Bitcoin’s Bonnie and Clyde?” According to the Times, the “Bitfinex hacking was the stuff of legend, but Mr. Lichtenstein and Ms. Morgan hardly appeared to be suave, or subtle, digital cat burglars — or the tip of a grand conspiracy.” (New York Times)
3. NYC’s Fireblocks, a digital asset custodian, has acquired First Digital, a stablecoin and digital asset payments technology platform. The purchase price was $100 million. 4. NYC’s Vicarius, a network security platform, has raised $24 million in Series A funding. The round was led by AllegisCyber Capital, JVP and Kevin Ryan’s AlleyCorp. Vicarius’ platform consolidates the vulnerability remediation process and analyses proprietary and third-party applications for vulnerabilities. (www.vicarius.io) (TechCrunch)
5. Brooklyn’s Waldo, a no-code test automation platform for mobile apps, has raised $15 million in a Series A funding. The round was led by NYC’s Insight Partners and joined by Matrix Partners, First Round Capital, Algolia founder Nicolas Dessaigne, Looker co-founder Ben Porterfield, and Zenhub CEO Tyler Gaffney. Mobile development teams using Waldo can set up tests without writing a line of code. (www.waldo.com) (TechCrunc)

6. Jersey City’s BlockFi, a crypto-asset management platform, is paying a record $100 million fine to securities regulators. The company has agreed to pay $50 milllion to the SEC and $50 million to 32 states to settle charges that its retail crypto lending product violated securities laws. BlockFi, which has raised $509 million, had offered an interest-bearing lending product without registering it as a security with regulators. (www.blockfi.com) (Reuters)
7. Brooklyn’s Radar, a geofencing platform, has raised $55 million in a Series C funding. The round was led by NYC’s Insight Partners and was joined by Accel, NYC’s Two Sigma Ventures, and Heavybit. Radar processes over 100 billion geo-location API requests per year from over 100 million devices for customers such as Panera, American Eagle Outfitters and T-Mobile. (www.radar.com) (GlobeNewswire)
8. Business Insider reports on what it was like to be one of the 2,800 people laid off by Peloton. They said the layoff was unexpected and felt “scripted.” The laid off employees all received a “complimentary” one-year membership to Peloton’s streamed fitness classes. (Business Insider)
9. NYCs Betterment, a digital investment platform, has acquired Makara, a Seattle-based SEC-registered cryptocurrency robo advisor. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquisition will allow Betterment to offer its over 700,000 customers the ability to invest in expert-built, diversified crypto portfolios. (www.betterment.com) (www.makara.com) (PR Newswire)
10. NYC’s EasyKnock, a residential real estate sale-leaseback startup, has raised $57.2 million in a Series C funding. Investors included Blumberg Capital, Gaingels, Moderne Ventures, QED Investors and Viola FinTech. The company buys homes and rents them back to sellers, allowing the sellers to monetize the equity in their homes. (www.easyknock.com) (The Real Deal)
